No matter, how the automotive market has been or where it will lead with rapidly increasing input cost, depreciating rupee or mounting fuel prices, hope is always there in the hearts of auto giants across the globe. And this time, it is being proved by GM India, which is quite hopeful to sell about 4,000 units a month of its newly launched Chevrolet Sail U-VA in the country this year.
Commenting on the issue, Lowell Paddock, President and Managing Director, General Motors India reportedly quoted that the introduction of Chevy Sail U-VA in India is an imperative addition to GM’s portfolio. It is a wonderful car, which drives new sagacity of liveliness to the fastest growing segment of Indian passenger car market, he added.
However, Paddock also said that sluggish market and ups & downs in sales volumes are quite common phenomenons, company hopes India to mark its position among world’s largest places and market will surely be improved in coming months.
P.Balendran, vice president of GM India also suggested that with three of GM’s models already phased out, company will not be able to achieve last year’s target, though it is able to keep harmony with industrial growth. In Kerala, where Chevy Sail U-VA is just launched, Gm expects to sell 250 units a month leading to previous year’s sales figures of all products.
GM India is also working out to introduce two more new models including Sedan Vista and ‘Enjoy‘ A Multi purpose vehicle, by next month.
