The studio was previously located in Pasadena, California, but Honda's North American R&D design chief, David Marek, says that it will have a larger role within the automaker's operations by moving downtown. Spanning about 6, 500 square feet, the facility will help the automaker's Torrance, California, operations design and build full-size models and prototypes. The building features unique design elements like a conference room made from a repurposed shipping container and a number of high tech computers. Honda says that the facility will take on a "lead role" within the automaker's global research and development department, which is headquartered a few hours outside of Tokyo. The facility will not, however, be the primary design studio for North American models - that responsibility remains near the automaker's North American headquarters in Torrance. div.post-content1 ul li { list-style:disc !important; margin-left:20px; color:#000000; } div.post-content1 ol li { list-style-type: decimal !important; margin-left:20px; color:#000000; } #editorial_graph ul li { list-style:none !important; margin-left:0px; } Source: Leftlanenews
