NHTSA has received 11 complaints from Veloster owners about panoramic glass roofs that shattered. Of those reports, seven indicated that the Velosters were in motion when their sunroofs shattered. The investigation will cover about 18,000 2012 Veloster hatchbacks. It's unclear whether Hyundai made any structural changes to the vehicle during its first year on the market. If the investigation finds that the Veloster's design is at fault, NHTSA will require Hyundai to recall and rectify all affected vehicles. The Veloster is also sold in a number of global markets. In the United States, the power-retracting panoramic roof is standard on the Veloster Turbo and included with the optional Style Package on naturally-aspirated Velosters. The sporty coupe features a unique three-door arrangement that includes two forward-opening doors on the passenger side but only a single, larger door on the driver's side. Source: Leftlanenews
