When price hike has already turned out to be a regular phenomenon in Indian automotive industry, Hyundai’s decision to come up with more pricier products does not seem any burning issue for the time being. Well auto group has finally realised the requisite of price hike on its vehicles due to rapidly escalating input costs and has announced around Rs. 5,000 price boost across all the models, which is to be effected from November 1st 2012.
According to HMIL Vice-President (National Sales and Marketing) Rakesh Srivastava, in order to offset ongoing foreign exchange fluctuations and rising input costs, it is necessary to hike model’s prices. Currently HMIL sells a list of models in the range of Rs. 2.75 lakh for Hyundai Eon to Rs.25.38 lakh for premium sports utility vehicles (ex-showroom Delhi).
Other auto giants including Honda, Renault, Audi, General Motors and Maruti have also raised the prices of their products.
