Diwali season is the time when automakers offer amazing discounts and freebies to customers in order to attract sales but Czech based auto giant Skoda thinks bit differently. The leading car manufacturer has slashed all discounts on its line-up in the country with an aim to overshadow old market practices during Diwali time, as mentioned by senior official of the company.
First model is the Fabia and automaker has cut all the discounts being offered on its largest selling hatchback. Moreover, Skoda has also slashed percentage of discount offered on sedans like Rapid, Laura, Superb and SUV Yeti.
COO of Skoda India, Sudhir Rao stated, “We are not in favor of offering greater discounts this festive season as we are adopting an exclusive strategy to sell our cars in the country. Our car prices will be kept real without any concessions and almost all our models will be available at similar price range and would be more expensive. We are sure that our superior brand and contemporary European technology will continue to shower good sales.”
All key auto leaders in the market like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Tata Motors are offering terrific discounts on their range during this ongoing festivity to gather sales and profits but Skoda Auto has chosen a different path.
Mr. Rao further mentioned, “After reducing discounts, we are consistently attaining good sales. We’ve got customers confidence and now later the festive scenario will decide our future strategy after performance assessment. Skoda Auto recorded 24% hike in sales during first six months of this financial year even after sluggish market conditions.”
