War seems to be heated up between two Japanese auto giants Toyota and Nissan with their respective multi-seater cars Innova Aero and Evalia. It had been only two days to Nissan Evalia launch and Toyota came up with limited edition of its highly popular Innova. The exclusive limited edition Innova Aero is priced at Rs. 12.33 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) to uphold the exhilaration around the 7-year old model. A total of 1200 units of Aero will be sold till the year end.
Toyota Innova is very successful model in India. With sales of more than 6,500 units per month and a growth of 64 per cent this year hitherto, the car has been leading and now with the limited edition, resultant buzz is surely going to be high. So due to Aero launch coupled with gradually increasing Mahindra Quanto and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga demands, Evalia seems to face dampening demand.
With Rs. 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) price tag, Evalia was likely to sell 2,000-2,500 units a month, but the vehicle faced slow sales of just 195 units in October, though peak festive season too could not get higher volumes for Evalia. On other hand, both the Ertiga and Quanto are offered price tag much below the Evalia and are efficiently managing sales of 6,500 and 2,500 a month correspondingly.
The limited edition of Innova, Aero comes adorned with dual tone front bumper spoiler, dual tone rear bumper spoiler, side skirt roof spoiler Aero emblem and is all set to offer new and exceptional ownership experience to buyers, looking for a stylish and athletic appearance.
Commenting on the Evalia dampening demand issue, Takayuki Ishida, managing director and chief executive, Nissan Motors India, said that sales forecast for Evalia are conservative and company would surely like to attain the Toyota Innova level.
