2013 Range Rover SUV, the fourth generation version of legendary luxury SUV series is in India now. Yes, the luxury counterpart of Tata Motors “Land Rover” has launched this vehicle for a starting price tag of Rs.1.72 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). More tweaked in all aspects of luxury, performance and efficiency, the 2013 Range Rover is offered in three variants with two engine options in Indian market. With a heavy price tag, 2013 Range Rover has become the dearest SUV in India, entering in the province of super luxury cars.
Being imported through CBU route in India, 2013 Range Rover will be distributed through 15 Jaguar-Land Rover dealerships crosswise the country. Though the SUV carries looks similar to its predecessor, upgrades can be seen in the form of new headlamps and alloy wheels. Moreover, the rear part of the legroom has been increased by 119 mm resulting in adequate rear legroom for such large vehicles.
In terms of technical specifications, 2013 Range Rover SUV is more refined and much more delicate. While 4.4-litre TDV8 turbo diesel engine offers 338 Bhp of peak power and 700 Nm of peak torque, 5.0-litre supercharged petrol V8 engine is able to belt out 510 Bhp of peak power and 625 Nm of peak torque. Adoring the same Terrain Response system for which Land Rover SUVs are famed, both the engines are mated to a an 8 speed automatic transmission and the Rangie getting four wheel drive as standard. However a smaller V6 turbo diesel engine is also in the list, but it will be introduced once it goes on global sales.
Being available with an all new aluminium monocouque body, 2013 Range Rover is being offered in two diesel variants, Vogue SE and Autobiography and in one petrol variant Autobiography Super charged carrying price tag of Rs.1.72 crore, Rs.1.79 Crore and 1.84 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.
