The day of reckoning has finally come for Cadillac. Has it finally built a sports sedan that's better than the BMW 3 Series? Automakers have been chasing after the BMW 3 Series for years and so far have failed to build a better all-handling sports sedan. Mercedes-Benz and Audi have both tried but haven't been able to outgun BMW's bread and butter model. Cadillac, meanwhile, has been trying ever so hard to become relevant again. The current CTS is proof of its valiant efforts, but up until now, Cadillac still didn't have a 3 Series fighter. (Don't even think of mentioning the embarrassment that was the old Catera.) The all-new ATS changes all of that and Motor Trend's Jonny Lieberman takes it to task against the 3 Series and the Mercedes C-Class. All three contestants have more powerful engines over the base models along with the latest nav and infotainment systems. But there can only one winner. Has Cadillac finally gotten the best of BMW?
