Does the new Porsche Boxster remain true to the spirit of the original? Or has it just become bigger, bulkier and more expensive over the years? The 911 may still be the prototypical Porsche sportscar, but its baby brother has come a long way since its introduction back in 1996. We can hardly believe it's been 16 years since the Boxster debuted, but it has come a long way since then. To highlight that point, Autocar has put together a rather unconventional comparison test, driving the first-generation Boxster S to see how it measures up against its successor, and arguably just as important, how the new Boxster measures up against the original.
