Performance, handling and aesthetic upgrades are applicable to both the Coupe and Spyder. Motoren Technik Mayer has been tuning Audis for almost 30 years, and its latest project is an upgrade program for the 5.2-liter V10-powered R8. The first change was aimed at releasing some of the supercar's latent horsepower, and with an ECU remap and new stainless-steel sports exhaust, the German tuner managed to boost output from 525 hp to 606 and torque from 391 to 413 lb-ft. As a result the tuned R8 has dropped 0.4 seconds off its 0-62 time, with the coupe managing it in 3.5 seconds and the heavier Spyder in 3.7.
