BMW to give visitors "hands-on" experience at museum - Latest Cars News

The automaker will have visitors don white gloves before letting them loose on about 125 classic BMWs on display at the museum. Normally, visitors need to stay at least a few feet away from the valuable classic cars on display, but BMW is hoping that the white gloves will encourage visitors to get up close and personal with the cars.

"[The event] offers our visitors a rare opportunity to get a feel - quite literally - for BMW's brand history, which now goes back more than 95 years," BMW Museum director Dr. Ralf Rodepeter said in a statement released to members of the media.

BMW's museum artfully showcases numerous cars from its heritage, as Leftlane learned during a visit a few years ago. It also includes temporary exhibits like an organic LED (OLED) sculpture called Dandelion currently on display.

For the Night of the White Gloves, BMW is partnering with leather glove manufacturer Roeckl and piano maker Steinway for special non-car displays during the event, which will run from 7 pm to midnight on November 23.

The event, which costs 5 euros, is open to the public.
