Though festive season in India usually witnesses car sales at their yearly high, but this time same doesn’t seem to happen. In fact auto industry looks covered by glooms of despair because of sluggish demand in market. To make their products more attractive, automakers have planned to offer various freebies on them in celebratory season. In the list, one name is reserved for Volkswagen group, which is going big on discounts with its best-selling cars, the Vento sedan and Polo hatchback. Besides this, carmaker is also presenting loan finance scheme with low rate of interest of 5.99% and an additional discount for corporate bookings. The discount offering is only up to 25th September, 2012, where Polo can be taken home by paying Rs. 55,000 less than usual and Vento will see 70,000 off on its select variants.
Recently Volkswagen gave a makeover to top end highline variants of Polo and Vento to make them more mesmerising. Both the cars got few cosmetic changes along with additional features without any extra cost and that is the plus point which can add more sales to VW’s business. Both Polo and Vento are famous for their solid build quality, good ride, handling and high quality interiors.
Coming to technical specifications of these cars, both of them come with naturally aspirated petrol and turbo diesel engines. While Polo is adorned with a 1.2 litre, 3 cylindrical petrol engine and a 1.2 litre TDI turbo diesel engine, Vento is housed with 1.6 lire 4 cylindrical petrol engine and a 1.6 litre TDI turbo diesel engine. All these engines are mated to five speed manual gear box but Vento petrol engine gets an extra 6 speed automatic gearbox fixed in it.
Well when economy is facing tough situations, coming with price cut and low interest finance on Polo and Vento will perhaps make VW group overcome the sluggish demand in India.
