Land Rover spared no expense in introducing its all-new 2013 Range Rover to the public. Earlier this month, the British brand’s flagship SUV was launched in London amid a large crowd of British actors, artists and athletes. It was a fitting tribute to what many regard as the ultimate luxury vehicle.
The new Range Rover follows the same the innovative spirit of the original design from over 40 years ago. But make no mistake; it marks a completely different direction for the iconic SUV. It’s the world’s first SUV with a lightweight all-aluminum body, helping it weigh about 700 pounds less than the model it replaces. According to Land Rover, its lightweight construction also helps the 2013 Range Rover deliver exceptional handling and efficiency.
“The new Range Rover preserves the essential, unique character of the vehicle – that special blend of luxury, performance and unmatched all-terrain capability,” said John Edwards, Land Rover’s Global Brand Director. “However, its clean sheet design and revolutionary lightweight construction have enabled us to transform the experience for luxury vehicle customers, with a step change in comfort, refinement and handling.”
Here is the U.S., Land Rover kept the party going for the new Range Rover. At an event held at the 30,000 square-foot home on the former Frick estate in Alpine, New Jersey, the new SUV was shown to the media and an audience of individually selected loyal customers.
“The debut of the all-new Range Rover is a momentous occasion for Land Rover and our loyal owners,” said Kim McCullough, Brand Vice President, Land Rover, North America, following the Range Rover’s official U.S. debut. “Our customers are incredible brand enthusiasts so they share in the excitement of the U.S. debut of the all-new Range Rover.”
While an entirely new platform makes the vehicle lighter and stronger than ever before, the next generation Range Rover still combines legendary Land Rover off-road capability with surprising on-road handling and agility.
Prices for the 2013 Range Rover will begin at $83,500. At that price it comes brimming with amenities. However, with every available option the new model can top out at nearly $131,000. The new Range Rover will be sold in 170 markets worldwide and it will arrive in North American showrooms later this year.
