The car was designed to pay homage Sergio Pininfarina, the son of the company's founder. Sergio took the reigns of the family business when his father, Battista, died in 1966 and went on to pen numerous acclaimed designs including the Peugeot 504 coupe/convertible, the Fiat Dino, the Ferrari F40 and the Cadillac Allanté. Pininfarina was less active in his later years but he nonetheless kept strong ties with the design firm and helped draw the Ferrari 360, among others. Often labeled the king of design by members of the international press, Sergio Pininfarina passed away last summer at 85-years old. Pininfarina has chosen not to release a single detail about the concept, saying only that it will offer a modern vision of the late design's work. The company has not confirmed this but the concept will likely take the form of a sleek two-seater sports car powered by a mid-mounted engine, a layout that Pininfarina was particularly fond of. More information about Pininfarina's mysterious Sergio concept will be revealed in the weeks leading up to the Geneva Motor Show. /* @Himanshu 09-01-2013
