Chrysler has announced the recall of some 2003-2004 Dodge Viper models. The recall is due to a problem with the sport car's airbag system. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Vipers involved in the recall may have a defective component in their airbag control module. That fault could cause the front airbags and/or seatbelt pretensioners to deploy inadvertently while the vehicle is being operated. The NHTSA warns that if the Viper's airbags inadvertently go off, it could increase the likelihood of a crash. However, no crashes or injuries have been linked to the recall. Chrysler will remedy the problem with a filter that "restores the module's capacity to manage air bag and pretensioner deployment." A grand total of 4,278 Vipers are covered by the recall. /* @Himanshu 09-01-2013
