Maruti Suzuki India is now playing big in the industry. After bearing the brunt of labour unrest and lock out at Manesar plant, company is in no mood to look back and that is why, it is aspiring to double its car production to 2,000 units by month of November. Betting high on its new Alto 800 to hike sales, auto group is all set to capture demand in forthcoming festive season.
As per reports, it is clear that presently Maruti produces around 1,200 cars in the Manesar plant. And with Alto 800, to be launched on October 16th, it is planning to increase this figure by almost double. Bookings for Alto 800 have been started and auto group hopes to develop 800 cars a day.
Though September showed increasing sales, but during last six months till September, Maruti has posted negative sales in passenger vehicles. Now the upcoming Alto 800 will surely repeat the history of Maruti 800 in the country. An analyst Prabudas Lilladher said that strong demand for Swift and Dzire is also expected to boost up the sales during Diwali festival.
