BMW is readying its first hybrid sedan, which is set to his Chinese showrooms later this year. BMW displayed a 5 Series plug-in hybrid concept at the 2011 Shanghai Auto Show, featuring a 92hp electric motor coupled with a 214 hp turbocharged internal combustion engine. That car is seemingly en route to production with these spy shots revealing BMW engineers winter testing a prototype. The giveaway that this is a hybrid is the fuel door hiding the charging port, which has a red sticker plastered over it warning of "high voltage" and reminding the driver not to open the charging port.
