Unlike the now-defunct MurciĆ©lago Roadster, the Aventador Roadster is equipped with a targa-style removable roof panel that is crafted out of carbon fiber using Lamborghini's Forged Composite technology. Made up of two pieces that weigh 13 pounds each, the roof can be removed in mere seconds and stowed away neatly in the front luggage compartment. The roof isn't the only visual difference between the two versions of the Aventador. Lamborghini has fitted the Roadster with a more aggressive decklid and it has redesigned its B-pillars to add stiffness to the body and protect occupants in the event of an rollover. The car is offered with model-specific forged aluminum 20-inch rims in the front and 21-inch rims in the rear, and it can be painted in a new shade of blue called Azzuro Thetis that is inspired by the one-off Miura Roadster that was built by Bertone and displayed as a concept at the 1968 Brussels Motor Show in Belgium. The Aventador Roadster is powered by the same 700-horsepower 6.5-liter V12 engine that is found under the decklid of the coupe. Linked to a seven-speed automatic transmission, the mill sends the Roadster from zero to 62 mph in three seconds flat and on to a top speed of 217 mph, a velocity that is attainable even with the top off. After debuting in Geneva, the Aventador LP700-4 Roadster will hit showrooms in the United States next summer. How much the car will cost in the United States is not currently known but it will sell for € 300,000 (roughly $381,000) in Europe. div.post-content1 ul li { list-style:disc !important; margin-left:20px; color:#000000; } div.post-content1 ol li { list-style-type: decimal !important; margin-left:20px; color:#000000; } #editorial_graph ul li { list-style:none !important; margin-left:0px; } Source: Leftlanenews
