Domestic Car Sales at its Best in October 2012 - Asian Cars

Either call it effects of festive season or describe it as gists of ongoing marriage ceremonies, but whatever it is, carmakers have surely enjoyed the month of October, which actually gave them reasons to celebrate. With the sales growth attaining the highest figures in last 22 months, October has emerged as cheerful occasion for the carmakers with a total of 172,459 vehicles sold in the industry.

 
Well a number of factors like new launches along with the best ever discounts in last three years impelled sales during the festive season. As Indian customers starts buying vehicles mostly in the festive season and whooping rebates from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 5 lakh made customers to purchase more and eventually resulted in higher sales.

 
Commenting on the issue, Sandeep Singh, deputy MD (marketing) Toyota said that the cheerful demand has helped automobile companies including Audi, Honda, Toyota, Hyundai and Mahindra to post striking sales. As demands for the utility vehicles are gearing up in India, industry expects market to witness the same phenomenon even after the festive season. There are many models that enjoy long waiting period and are boosting the demand, he added.

 
However SIAM also suggests that good growth is also resulted because of very low base of the previous year and it will not revise these figures.
