Lamborghini unveils facelifted Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder - Auto News

Up front, the Spyder features a more aggressive look that incorporates trapezoidal and triangular air intakes. The geometric theme is continued at the rear, which also features restyled taillights. Nineteen-inch "Apollo polished" alloy wheels round out the exterior revisions.

No changes have been made to the Spyder's 5.2-liter V10, which continues to produce 552 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 398 lb-ft of torque at 6,500 rpm. Output is sent to all four wheels through Lamborghini's "E-Gear" six-speed single-clutch automated manual gearbox.

Buyers looking to add a bit of flair can opt for the Style Package, which adds high-gloss black paint to the front and rear grilles, underside of the front spoiler and elements of the rear trim.

The 2013 revisions constitute the Gallardo's second update since its introduction back in 2003. Its successor, which may use the Huracan appellation, is expected to launch in 2014.
