The V8-powered, rear-wheel-drive production Chevrolet SS will finally have its official premiere on February 16th at the Daytona International Speedway. At first it started as a rumor. Then Chevrolet confirmed it but declined to give an official launch date. But the wait is nearly over as Chevy has announced that the production version of its new SS performance sedan will debut on February 16 at the Daytona International Speedway's fan zone. For the uninitiated, the Chevy SS is basically the reborn Pontiac G8, itself a rebadged Holden Commodore from Australia.The SS will be the first V8 Chevy sedan sold in the US in 17 years.
