India is undoubtedly becoming a hub for auto giants to introduce new products and gain better market share. Many of the auto groups have expanded their dealership network and now its Porsche’s turn to enlarge its set-up in the country. Porsche, a division of Volkswagen AG, is planning to open six new dealerships in Bangalore, Chandigarh, Gurgaon, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Mumbai. Ready to offer customers supreme experience and service facilities as well, the new business partners have started working on state-of-the-art facilities, to be functional in year 2013.
As per company officials, Porsche will mainly focus on Sports car 911 and Boxter S, which will be offered at Rs. 1.12 crore and Rs. 80.24 lakh ( ex-showroom, Maharashtra ) respectively. The delivery of said vehicles will start very soon, company said. Furthermore, while SUV Cayenne will be sold at Rs. 61.4 lakh for the lowest trim, diesel version of the same will be offered at Rs. 68.3lakh. Moreover, Panamera Diesel will be sold at Rs. 99 lakh.
Anil Reddi, director of Porsche India said that new business set up lets us to rework on the pricing issue for the entire range of models and company is expecting better result from customer’s side for this decision. As of now, customers are enquiring strongly for the Cayenne diesel and the Panamera range. With its 3-litre V6 diesel engine under the hood and a basic retail price of under Rs.1 crore, the Panamera will revitalize the sleeping luxury car segment and surely offer customers a generously styled and distinctly sportier option, he added.
