The largest carmaker of India, Maruti Suzuki has registered a fine growth of 9.84% in its September sales figure. The company sold total 93,988 units in September. As per reports, the brand sold 85,565 units in the same month last year.
With record hike of 12.67% in contrast to September 2011 when company sold 78,816 units, this year Maruti’s domestic sales stood at 88,801 units, as mentioned in the statement issued by the automaker.
But checking the MSI’s exports figure, the same showed a decline of 23.14% to 5,187 units in September 2012 as against to 6,749 units in the year-ago period.
Maruti Suzuki’s total passenger car sales in India grew by 3.43% to 68,957 units in comparison to September 2011, when brand sold 66,667 units, as mentioned in the statement.
Small car segment of Maruti that includes M800, A-Star, Alto and WagonR, posted a minor increase of 4.89% in sales count of 39,150 units last month from 37,324 units in September 2011. Whereas, in the compact car segment with Estilo, Swift and Ritz company sold total 17,813 units as against to 19,722 units sold in the same month of last year, recording a drop of 9.68%.
Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, the popular compact sedan registered 24.26% growth with total sales of 11,694 units last month from 9,411 units in a year ago period. Company sold 288 units of mid-sized sedan SX4 during last month in contrast to 196 unit’s sales in September 2011. But luxury sedan Kizashi experienced a fall of 14.29% with only 12 units sold in September last month as against to 14 units in Sep 2011.
