Passat Performance Concept Don't let the title fool you : the Passat Performance Concept will eventually make production as a sportier version of the current Passat sedan. Essentially a GTI for the family set, the Passat Performance Concept features a number of performance improvements, including a lowered sports suspension, upgraded steering, dual exhaust outlets and 19-inch wheels. But the big news is what's underneath the hood. VW has fitted the Passat Performance Concept with a 1.8L turbocharged four-cylinder delivering 250 horsepower. Although not as healthy as the Passat's optional 280 horsepower 3.6L V6, the lighter four-cylinder promises to give the Passat a better handling balance. The turbocharged mill, backed by a six-speed automatic transmission, should also be more efficient than the larger V6, which can only manage 28mpg on the highway. VW says the Passat Performance Concept is an early look at an "upcoming sport sedan", but the automaker has yet to announce when such a model might land in dealer showrooms. Touareg R-Line Available on TDI and VR6 trims of the Touareg, the new R-Line package gives the big SUV a more aggressive look. From the outside, the Touareg R-Line is easily recognizable by its 20-inch wheels, unique front fascia, side skirts, LED taillights and oval exhaust outlets. The package also includes plenty of R-Line badging. Inside, the R-Line Touareg is treated to gloss black and aluminum trim accents, R-Line scuff plates, aluminum sport pedals, and an R-Line steering wheel. The R-Line trim doesn't added any power, but the package does include a sport-tuned suspension. Tiguan R-Line Available as an add on to the Tiguan's SEL trim package, the R-Line enhances the compact SUV with a number of styling and performance tweaks. On the styling front, the Tiguan R-Line sports side skirts, larger fender flares and a rear spoiler. The package also includes LED license plate illumination, Xenon headlight and LED daytime running lights. In order to improve the Tiguan's handling, the R-Line trim comes with "Mallory" 19-inch wheels wrapped in low-profile rubber. A lowered suspension is also included in the package. Inside, the Tiguan R-Libe benefits from "metallic-finish" dash and door trim, a flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters, R-Line scuff plates and a black headliner. In order to keep audiophiles happy, the Tiguan R-Line also includes VW's Fender Premium Audio System. VW says both R-Line SUVs will go on sale during the third quarter of 2013, but the German automaker is holding off on announcing pricing details. /* @Himanshu 09-01-2013
