Electric cars are the need for the day and if they come adorned with more advanced features, the magic of electric cars will definitely rule over all the segments. Taking the same perception in mind, global automotive technology leader Continental India has proclaimed to supply stylish electrical and electronics car body parts like Basic Function Controller (BFC), immobilizer and remote keyless entry to Mahindra Reva NXR, the leading electric car of the country.
Continental India has been providing BFC to leading OEMs in Asia and currently has more than 25 projects in the BFC range allowing carmakers to advance their models easily to congregate with future needs. Commenting on the issue, Torsten Kreiling, Head of Body & Security India business unit remarked that by enabling OEMs to employ advanced body electronics features’ resulting in classy car body, Continental India offers them a chance to come up with more advanced electrical & electronic system implementation. And now with the decision of offering the same to leading car of the country, company is feeling very bigheaded.
However, speaking on the issue, Chetan Maini, Founder and Chief of Technology & Strategy, Mahindra Reva said that auto group is very much delighted in bonding with a leading global auto technology supplier and it believes that the synergy will surely upshot in greater driving experience for customers. He added that company’s electric cars are built on 5C’s approach of Clean, Convenient, Connected, Clever and Cost Effective.

Big changes are about to take place at BMW as the brand begins a shift towards front-wheel-drive models. BMW has long been known as a performance brand with a penchant for luxury and advanced technologies. Along with its high-performance M division, it has become the benchmark in many segments, including sport sedans, coupes, convertibles and crossovers of various shapes and sizes. But one element has combined all of its cars through the decades: rear-wheel-drive. That's apparently all about to change, however, as word has it that the German automaker is proposing to launch up to 20 new front-drive models in coming years.

Just because you're a professional motorcycle journalist doesn't mean you'll avoid unfortunate spills. It's one thing to say that accidents happen, but it's something else entirely when an accident occurs out of sheer stupidity. Most drivers/riders take necessary precautions to insure their safety as well as that of others. But there's always that one guy who gets careless. In the video you're about to see, a motorcyclist working for French magazine Moto-Journal was filming a segment about the Yamaha FJR 1300 at the Port of Saint Martin. Driving slowly on the dock, the rider still manages to lose control after hitting a metal pole. Unable to balance things out, rider and motorcycle go over the edge together and onto the docks below. Fortunately the rider was just fine, but his colleagues posted the video for our amusement.

Lexus continues to add more spice to its lineup by approving for production a reborn SC coupe featuring the dramatic styling of the LF-CC Concept. Early last month we reported that Lexus was keen to build a new rear-wheel-drive coupe based off the highly stylish LF-CC Hybrid Concept displayed at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. Set to be the first true coupe since the discontinuation of the old SC, Autocar is reporting that the Japanese automaker has just officially greenlit the concept for production. The show car's hybrid drivetrain will also make production and it'll more than likely be based on the 3.5-liter V6 that's in the larger GS 350h sedan.

Panda takes on Big Foot in one wild conversion spotted in the Italian alps. We've seen all sorts of vehicles turned into monster trucks. Usually they're pickups, but these days anything goes. Take for example this Fiat Panda 4x4 spotted in Italy. The latest soft-roading hatchback has apparently gotten an upgraded drivetrain, taking it from Lilliputian to Monster Truck. We don't know whether the 900cc two-cylinder or 1.3-liter diesel available in the Panda 4x4 has been replaced for this application, but the locking differentials may very well have carried over. We don't know anything else about it, but we do know we like it and that it's all kinds of awesome. If Jeep is going to base its Compass replacement off of this model, we hope it brings the big wheels along with it if and when it does.

New global emissions regulations are forcing BMW to evaluate whether or not to offer a V12 in the next-generation 7 Series. Despite just having celebrated 25 years of V12 power in its flagship sedan, BMW apparently has yet to make a final decision whether or not the next-generation 7 Series will include twelve-cylinder power. According to a report from Australian website CarAdvice, BMW Australia product and pricing manager Christoph Priemel revealed told the publication that it's not quite a done deal that the sixth-gen 7 Series would continue the V12 tradition. The 7 Series has offered such an engine since 1987.

Stylish, luxurious and quick, it's difficult to find a single thing to dislike about the XK. Some of you aren't going to like hearing this and many will refuse to believe it, but supercars are not a great way to meet women. They are a great way to meet guys, and those who need further evidence can check out Motor Trend/Hot Rod Magazine's web show Roadkill, as they have experimented with this phenomenon and I just don't have the space to go into it. The cars here are those which consistently rated high in surveys about which cars get women's attention.

The final 2012 COPO Camaro is making its way to the auction block this January. But don't worry, another 69 units are planned for 2013. Drag racers looking for some serious Bowtie action had to act fast after GM announced a limited 69-car run of the Chevrolet COPO Camaro. Responding to demand that quickly outstripped supply, the American automaker has since announced a second run of 69 examples. But before those leave the factory, Chevrolet is auctioning off the last example of that first run this January at the hands of Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The most victorious manufacturer in the history of Le Mans racing is heading back after a fifteen-year hiatus with a new 911 GT3 RSR. With an unprecedented sixteen overall victories at Le Mans, there's little question that Porsche is, without a doubt, the most successful manufacturer in the history of endurance racing. Its (literal) track record overshadows Ferrari, Aston Martin, Ford... even its sister-company Audi, which has emerged as the dominant force in Le Mans racing in the modern era. The thing is that Porsche has not officially competed at Le Mans since 1998, but that's about to change.

When it comes to driving big trucks, reading signs is paramount to success. Most drivers willfully ignore posted height signs. There's not much risk involved when it comes to driving a sedan under a bridge that is only 11 feet high. However, truckers need to be especially attentive of these signs. That being said, some don't. When a truck tries to go under a bridge that it's too big for, the result is hilarious, to say the least. Continue below to check out some of the greatest truck-overpass fails ever documented on video. This low-lying railroad clearance trestle in Durham, North Carolina, has probably claimed the tops of more trucks than any other bridge or overpass in the world. The worst part of this clip is that it doesn't show the 14-foot trailer getting stuck beneath the 11-foot bridge. The best part of this clip is imagining how in the world you fix a mess like this. How a dump truck driver can drive around without noticing the fact that his dumper is raised defies all logic. When it comes to footbridges in Istanbul, just don't. First off, no, the driver in this video did not die. Knowing that, it's a lot easier to laugh at this massive fail. It's been said that the definition of madness is doing the same thing twice and expecting a different result. If that's true, then this video is pure madness.

The original Batmobile from the classic '60s TV show is going up for sale for the first time ever next month. The Batmobile has certainly evolved over the decades and everyone seems to have their favorite generation of the iconic car. Despite the advancements in technology and visual effects, there are still a number of fans out there who's preferred Batmobile still remains the original 1966 Lincoln Future concept. Converted into the Batmobile for the old TV series starring Adam West as the Caped Crusader, the George Barris Batmobile is set to be auctioned off on January 19th at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Mazda taking a page out of the Audi playbook with a diesel racer at the Rolex 24 at Daytona to highlight the arrival of the diesel Mazda6 in North America. Between the Miller-cycle engine in the Millennia, the rotary in the RX-7 and the world's smallest V6 that was shoehorned into the MX3 hatch, Mazda has an extensive and proven track record of developing and marketing innovative approaches to the internal-combustion engine. And for the first time, it will offer a diesel in North America. We're talking about the new Mazda6, which the Japanese automaker has confirmed will be available Stateside with its SkyActive-D 2.2-liter diesel engine.

The Porsche 911 GT3 packs 435 horsepower. 9ff modified it to 1,381 hp, taking it up to a top speed of 272 mph and unveiling the result at the Essen Motor Show. There are lots of companies out there tuning Porsches, but few of them perform quite the extensive transformation that 9ff does with its GT9. When it debuted in 2008, the GT9 emerged as a highly-modified 911 GT3 with a mid-mounted flat-six bored out to 4.2 and fitted with twin turbochargers. The 987 horsepower that resulted propelled the GT9 to an insane top speed of 253 mph. But speed freaks like the engineers at 9ff are never satisfied with "too fast", so they came back in 2009 with the 1,120hp GT9-R that hit 257 mph. Now 9ff is at it again with the GT9 Vmax. Debuting this week at the Essen Motor Show, the GT9 Vmax is (as you may have guessed from the name) geared for top speed runs. It has now been tuned up to 1,381 horsepower for a top speed quoted at 272 mph. (Yes, you read that right: 272 mph.)

V8 Supercars medical car looks like it could use some first aid itself after an unfortunate run-in with an errant Ford Falcon. Spec out a Porsche Panamera just right and you could be looking at a venerable V8-powered supercar. But down in Australia, the Panamera serves as the medical chase car for the V8 Supercars series. The specially-equipped Panamera 4S picks up the rear of the pack as it circles Australia's racing circuits and is at the ready in case anything bad should happen to one of the cars or their drivers. But what happens when something bad happens to the medical car? That's what racing fans Down Under witnessed this weekend at the Homebush circuit during the Sydney Telstra 500. After colliding with another car, Shane Van Gisbergen's Ford Falcon apparently busted its steering rack, and when the medical car approached, it took it out, too.

Chrysler is buying its own history, but closing the doors to the public save for special exhibitions. If you're planning a trip to Michigan, the Walter P. Chrysler Museum is a must-see. When the facility opened in 1999, it was the first museum to be located at a US automaker's headquarters, and houses 67 classic vehicles from Chrysler's history. The funny thing is that, while the building is owned by Chrysler itself, the collection itself is not. But that's about to change. Although some 35,000 people came to visit the museum last year, ticket sales have not been enough to sustain the collection's operations.

German high-performance tuning firm Brabus is certainly no stranger to uber-powerful Benzes. With a specific focus on Silver Stars, Brabus has now turned its attention to the newly-redesigned Mercedes-Benz SL-Class roadster. Already a powerful beast in stock form, Brabus has managed to up the Benz convertible by several notches by way of some good old-fashioned engine refinements along with various exterior and interior enhancements to take the SL from boulevard cruiser to veritable bruiser.
