How Lamborghini managed to find blocks and blocks of traffic-free streets in NYC is a mystery that has yet to be solved. This ad is a little on the artsy side (no earthquakes) but is still solid. Lamborghini ditches the black and white lens filters and sweeping scenery shots in favor of clever humor in this commercial. The result is a clever and cheeky commercial that doesn't make Lamborghini owners look like rich d-bags. Fans of art house car commercials will love this Gallardo spot. MX-5 program manager Nobuhiro Yamamoto revealed to Car News that Mazda is working on a new RX-7 that will be lighter, more powerful and more fuel efficient than the discontinued RX-8. Yamamoto, who served as the powertrain manager for the previous RX-7 and also designed the Le Mans-winning Mazda 787B's Wankel motor, said the car will use Mazda's next-generation 16X rotary engine. Whereas the RX-8's 1.3-liter Renesis mill made 232 horsepower, Yamaoto indicated that the 16X will displace 1.6 liters and produce around 300 horsepower in naturally aspirated form (a turbo variant is a possibility down the road). Thanks to special catalytic converters and combustion principles borrowed from Mazda's SkyActiv technology, the motor should be emissions-compliant around the globe and also boast improved fuel economy compared to the thirsty Renesis. However, Yamaoto said that Mazda would not consider adding a hybrid system as Acura has with the reborn NSX. "For a pure sportscar, it must be internal combustion," Yamaoto said. Aluminum will be used extensively in the RX-7's bodyshell, helping keep weight down to about the same 2800 lbs. as the Scion FR-S/ Subaru BRZ. A stretched version of the next-generation MX-5 Miata's platform will likely underpin the RX-7, and the car will be a two-seater in all markets except for Japan, where it will feature a pair of diminutive rear seats. The National Automobile Dealers Association also promised $1 million as a way of starting off a national fund-raising campaign for the Emergency Relief Fund of the National Automobile Dealers Charitable Foundation, according to Autonews. The fund will be tailored to help dealership employees affected by national disasters. Chevrolet said it has donated 50 trucks, each packing 300 OnStar calling minutes and three months of turn-by-turn navigation service for no charge. During the storm, OnStar opened up features for one million subscribers in impacted zones free of charge. Toyota will also match any employee contributions to the American Red Cross and other non-profit organizations assisting victims on top of the $1 million. Ford sold 3,182 units of the C-Max Hybrid in October, besting the Toyota Prius v and its 2,769 sales during the month. "The new C-MAX is off to a fast start in the heart of the hybrid market, not only outselling Prius v, but drawing a lot of interested Toyota customers who chose our new hybrid instead," said C.J. O'Donnell, manager, Ford Electrified Vehicles. According to Ford, more than 70 percent of C-Max buyers either traded in a competitive model or purchased the hybrid without trading in another vehicle. About 25 percent of all C-Max Hybrids have been sold in California. Although Romeny's claim was totally off base, Trump used that false information as an opportunity to bash both President Obama and Chrysler via his personal Twitter account. Shortly thereafter, Gilles responded to Trump without mincing words. "You are full of (expletive)!," he wrote. Australia's Autodom Ltd. was recently forced to close two production plants, which could impact production facility operated by Ford and GM' Holden unit as early as next week. Autodom cited financial problems as the reason for the plant closures. Although new car sales have been steadily recovering in the United States, Australia's auto industry has struggled to bounce back from the global economic slowdown. The Australian government has tried to prop the industry will billions in aide, but both automakers and suppliers continue to deal with lower demand. Autodom CEO Calvin Stead says the perfect storm of a strong Australian dollar, high labor costs and overcapacity lead to the company's demise. Autodom is scrambling to reopen its factories, but the company has indicated that local players have so far been unhelpful in that goal. If no solution is found, it could affect production facilities operated by Ford and GM within a matter of days. Of the two, Ford would be the hardest hit by a supply issue. Ford relies on Autodom for hundreds of components for its Falcon sedan and Territory SUV. "We are currently assessing what effect it will have on our production," Ford Australia spokeswoman Sinead Phipps told Reuters. "We are okay until the middle of next week, but if it's not resolved it could potentially affect our production then." Customized 2013 Avalon was a highlight of theToyota stand at SEMA 2012 this week. Toyota commissioned DUB Magazine to create a special edition Avalon for SEMA 2012, whose doors have been opened this week. "DUB has proven here that the new Avalon makes a sharp urban ride," noted Toyota Engagement Marketing and Motorsports National Manager Keith Dahl. "Their modifications give it an aggressive, yet classy look that might have been unexpected in the previous generation." The new look is dominated by a set of matte black 22-inch TIS alloys wrapped in ultra-low profile Pirelli tires that pack the wheel wells.

A couple of visually enhanced Accords are one thing. A supercharged 189 horsepower CR-Z concept is another matter entirely. Honda fans have been critical of their beloved automaker of late for not being at the top of its game. Gone are models such as the S2000 roadster and more compact (read: sportier and more fun to drive) Accords with their replacements nowhere to be seen. However, if its SEMA display cars are anything to go by, Honda has taken note of that criticism and is working on putting things right. Beginning this spring, the all-new 2013 Accord Coupe will be available with the limited edition Honda Factory Performance (HFP) package.

First undisguised images and details of the hotly-anticipated A45 AMG have been released by the automaker. Europe's hot-hatch market is a tough one to crack, but with the new A45 AMG Mercedes is well equipped to compete with the likes of the BMW M135i and Audi RS3 Sportsback. AMG has confirmed the A45 AMG will make its world debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, a year after the new A-Class made its public debut. We've seen spy shots before, but these are the first images of the final prototype, completely undisguised save for some black tape on the lower part of the front bumper, grille wings, center section of the rear diffuser, MB monikers and side skirts.

Three crossover concepts showcase style studies for the 2013 Mazda CX-5. There doesn't appear to be anything particularly enticing about this trio of crossover concepts based on the 2013 CX-5. Although a first look at the diesel-powered CX-5 is an unexpected bonus. Named after actor Patrick Dempsey, who races a Mazda RX-8 in Grand-Am, the CX-5 Dempsey is powered by Mazda's new Skyactiv-D diesel engine coupled with all-wheel drive and mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Stylistically, it boasts a contrasting grey, black, and red paint scheme, 20-inch black chrome alloys and Racing Beat dual exhaust.

It can be safely said that the Sao Paulo International Motor Show is not the biggest auto show around. That being said, the Brazilian auto show has been gaining steam, as evidenced by all of the stellar concepts, special editions and new models shown off at the 2012 incarnation of the show. The modern-looking Taigun has a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder engine that is both turbocharged and direct-injected. The 110hp engine is good for a 0 to 62 time of 9.2 seconds and a top speed of 115 mph. Volkswagen has kept coy on whether or not the Taigun will be built, but they did confirm that it could happen.

The soundtrack of this pair of Jaguar engines is like music to our ears. After several years in the making, Jaguar finally unveiled its all-new F-Type roadster at September's Paris Motor Show. And it was well worth the wait. Along with a stunning design that could only be penned by Jaguar, the F-Type was launched with a choice of two fantastic engines. The base supercharged 3.0-liter V6 produces a respectable 340 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque while the mid-level S model makes 380 hp and 339 lb-ft from a more powerful version of the same engine. The top-of-the-line V8 engine has an output of 495 ponies and 460 lb-ft. Both engines sound fantastic and Jaguar wants to share its new pride and joy with us in this latest video. But instead of focusing on the entire car, we're treated solely to the soundtracks of its harmonious engines.

What you will discover is that the DeltaWing is a car with fundamental stability. It has a light front end with 100mm-wide tires, wishbones less than a millimeter thick and a spring and damper unit from a mountain bike. The whole set up of the car has been approached from a totally fresh perspective, particularly with regard to how it tackles corners.

The neo-classic Ford GT meets its racing counterpart halfway in a racecar-for-the-road conversion. The Ford GT may have only been built in limited numbers, but its standing as one of the finest supercars ever made in America stands on both road and track. Now the two are meeting in one new package. The project is a joint effort between the GT Guy LLC and RH Motorsports, which have teamed up to turn the Ford GT racecar, which was already based on the roadgoing version, back into a street-legal ride - similar to how Ferrari had turned its contemporary 360 Modena into the 360 Challenge racer and then back into the 360 Challenge Stradale.

SEMA show car reveals the tuning house�s upcoming Stage 3 Mustang package. Roush Performance, in collaboration with Ford Racing and Sherwin-Williams Automotive Paints, created this stunning 700-horsepower Roush Stage 3 Mustang just in time for an appearance at the 2012 SEMA Show. At its hearts is an engine package consisting of a Ford Racing Aluminator Engine and Roush Phase 3 Supercharger Kit rated at 700 hp and 585 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful Mustang Roush has ever produced.

Mini has made that its raison-d'etre, Fiat has rebuilt itself around the 500, Citroen has relaunched the DS line, Land Rover has a new Defender on the way... the list goes on and on, outlining a picture of an industry reacquainting itself with the models that put them on the map. The latest is Honda, which has just launched the N-One. Tracing its roots to the 1967 Honda N360 that was its first mass-produced car, the N-One was specifically developed for the Japanese Domestic Market.

Japanese hot-hatch gets some German tuning. Erftstadt-based tuner MR Car Design has put a new spin on the Mazdaspeed3. Branded MPS (Mazda Performance Series) in Europe, the front-drive hot-hatch has been augmented with more power, new wheels and a racing-inspired received a substantial upgrade in power along with some new wheels and racing-inspired decals. Marcel Reil's crew has upgraded the 2.3-liter engine with a turbocharger and new hoses, Forge intercooler and new exhaust system. The German outfit says that output has increased from 260 horsepower to an impressive 310 horses.
